The Other Side of Ashley Madison

This has been, I imagine, a horrible week for a lot of married couples around the world, thanks to the Ashley Madison leaks. It’s hard to have sympathy for the “victims” of privacy invasion, considering they willingly signed up for a website that helps them commit adultery, but I don’t wish that kind of pain and suffering on any family.
On the flip side, it’s been a pretty good week for those of us who don’t cheat on our spouses!
Come on – are Kim and I the only ones who proudly said this week – “go ahead – look me up – I’m not on the list!” Followed by a brief touchdown celebration dance, and maybe a big hug and kiss? Yes, it’s an immature reaction. Yes, it’s probably insensitive to those going through some heartbreak right now.
But yes, we should celebrate fidelity as much as, if not more than, we gawk at infidelity!
This week was a win for anyone who is in it for the long haul. This week was a win for dudes who know that our wives are way too good for us, but we try our best to make them happy, show up every day, and don’t to anything too irreversably stupid. And this week there’s nothing you can say that’s more romantic than “I love you so much, I didn’t go on Ashley Madison”.
Anyway, we wrote a song about it. Because, you know, that’s what we do.
