With age comes change. Maybe hair loss or weight gain, but also wisdom and laugh lines. For the last several years, Penn and I have spent an hour each week with you all on our podcast. It’s our absolute favorite thing to do and it was obvious that we were hitting a theme: finding the comedy in aging. So our podcast has a new name (AND being simulcast on YouTube) but you can still hear our usual thoughts on parenting and marriage. We will also be bringing in some incredible experts on topics like longevity, metabolism, and Alzheimer’s. We hope you’ll join us in highlighting the lighter side of getting older.
Two Decades of Love
Since the inaugural episode of Laugh Lines was set to come out on our 20th wedding anniversary, it only seemed right for us to share the 10 lessons we’ve learned along the way. We hit on sleeping in separate beds, love languages, and being each other’s favorite person. In between our own advice, we shared some call-ins from listeners (on the laugh line!) who shared their own marriage suggestions. I personally am still reeling from Katie’s message of “fighting naked” that she got…wait from it…from her priest.
Twenty years of marriage—how did that even happen? It feels like we blinked and suddenly we’re here, with two kids, a dog, and a whole lot of shared memories. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs, but through it all, we’ve learned how to be a solid team. Marriage isn’t always easy, but man, it’s worth it. Here’s to embracing the next chapter with even more wrinkles, wisdom, and reasons to laugh.
