As you know, the podcast is my most favorite thing we do. Our videos online are often short, quick hits. The podcast is a place where Penn and I can have more nuance and in-depth conversations. So in the spirit of that, we invited two of our team members, Ann Marie Taepke and Sam Allen, to end the year with a reflection on 2024.
In the past year we released over 143 videos, all with their own story to tell. We had so much fun sharing our favorite moments that we decided to make this a podcast series in two parts. (Both are live now! Part 1 and Part 2.) We give snippets of the videos in our podcast, but we thought we would include a list of the videos below!
The Year of Being Unhinged
My favorite video shoot this year was our second Perry Menopause video that ended with an infomercial. (Mostly because I got to run around in my pajamas all day.)
Sam shared about filming our Public Water Fountain video, and the challenges of filming in the rain.
In a series of videos called âYou Canât Quit the Club Daysâ Ann Marie highlighted that this year we were willing to be more unhinged with our content.
Penn discussed âAlphalingoâ as a great example of our entire team working to make a project great. (Some people in the comments even thought the app was real!)
A great example of âunhingedâ content we created this year is Pennâs Dr. Dre parody about Fall decor. (More on the podcast about that owl.)
We seem to really love to do videos about fall decor, because Ann Marie mentioned this video and gave Penn his flowers for his song writing skills this year.
This ADHD song needed energy, so we decided it would be best if Penn was walking down the street with his guitar at a quick pace. Ann Marie actually shot the video while strapped into the back of Samâs pickup truck. (Full story in the podcast!)
This was our top video of the year and really highlights that some of the best things to poke fun at are the most mundane parts of our life. I mean, who doesnât love a pretty good box?
Sometimes **** Hits The Fan
We ended the podcast with an animated retelling of how our house was almost demolished by water damage. Penn and I were both gone, but Sam and Ann Marie were there when the **** hit the fan. (Or rather, was dripping out of it.) They give a first-hand account of the craziness – thank goodness they were there.
We had a great time looking back at 2024 and canât wait to see what is ahead in 2025. Do you have a favorite video or moment from last year? Share it with us! You can start Part 1 of the podcast below:
