In the time of social media and algorithms, I’ve realized I prefer to see people’s faces. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an introvert and I love the connection and community created online. I recognize names in the comment section and I look forward to the conversations. But Penn and I have been feeling like the relationship we have with you is very one-sided. You’ve heard me cry about some of our hardest moments … and I only know your name and profile picture. It seemed pretty unfair.
So we booked a small, local venue and hosted a live podcast. We talked with our marriage coach about some of our most impactful relationship lessons. We sang (and by “we” I mean Penn, I don’t sing unless there’s wine involved), we laughed, and at some point during the show I started using a stair stepper for some reason (no wine involved – I think my step count was low for that day.) Best of all, we got to put so many faces to the names we see on our screens every day.
