Mother’s Day Special: Words of Wisdom every Family Should Hear

Kim Holderness Mom

We have a very special podcast this week with a very special guest .. my mom! My mom, Peggy, joins us to help celebrate Mother’s Day. She is the person I call when I have good news or bad news. She’s my safe harbor in the storm and the strongest person I know. It is one of the reason’s I’m so excited that she shared her incredible advice on motherhood and marriage on today’s show.

We also give a special mention to Penn’s mom, who is advancing through Alzheimers. He shares what that means for his relationship on Mother’s Day and the days moving forward. We’re sure many of our listeners can relate to the love, struggle and heartache that’s involved with being a caretaker of a parent.

Mother Knows All

Moms may have the best advice, but they also know all the things about you. To Penn’s delight, Peggy tells some stories of my former boyfriends. Did Bobby Parker give me mono? Jury is still out. My mom also speaks her mind about marriage and relationships. One piece of advice we love: both people need to feel heard. Such simple, yet imperative advice.

Happy Mother’s Week

As Peggy shared, being a mom sometimes means putting off your own needs and gratification. So, in honor of Mother’s Day, please take a long moment to give thanks to your Mom or mother figure.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! We hope your day is filled with love, laughter and memories.

About Us
The Holderness family has been dancing in pajamas and singing during snow days for years — but last year they hit the record button on the camera and published their goofy video on YouTube. Penn, Kim, Lola, and Penn Charles continue to make hilarious videos around tent-pole events and circumstances most families face.
