I turn 50 next year and before the big day, I’ve set some pretty lofty goals for myself. Among them: Reading 50 books in this calendar year, mastering a pull-up, and walking 10,000 steps a day. I am no closer to a pull-up than I was when I started, but since being open about my lack of progress I have gotten SO MANY TIPS. (Thank you so much.) I need to do the work, even if it’s hard. I am rocking my step count, and really enjoying how it’s pushed me to take breaks on busy days. (And a good fart walk in the evening, more on that here.)
As for the reading, I’m very proud of my progress. I’m on book 24/50 and I’m on the hunt for what to read next. During the pandemic, it seemed I lost my ability to really focus on a book and this challenge has reignited my reading habit. Last week, I asked for your recommendations on what I should be reading and I got about ten thousand suggestions. (You all are the best.) I read every single comment and I compiled a list to the best of my ability of the books that dominated your recommendations.
