How To Get (and Stay) Organized with The Home Edit

I can not sit down and begin to do any work unless everything is tidy and organized. I just need to clear that mental space in my brain or else it distracts me from focusing on other things. Somehow, I married someone completely the opposite. Penn claims having things all in order gives him anxiety. (I know, I don’t understand it either.) But, he says “feeling the pressure to maintain the order” is what makes him feel anxious.

Penn and I have learned to be understanding of how each other’s brains work. He gives me grace when I need to get things in order and I try my best to give him patience when I close the cabinet doors for the 5th time.

Fundamental Change

On this week’s podcast, we interviewed the women who turned organizing in rainbow order into an entire brand. Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin are creators of The Home Edit and stars of the hit Netflix series, Get Organized with The Home Edit.

You’ll hear why they are so popular: THEY EVEN INSPIRED PENN TO GET ORGANIZED. I know, I know. It was worth the ALL CAPS announcement, don’t you think?

Let me tell you, there has been a fundamental change in our marriage after this interview.

Plus, Clea gave us a candid update on her recent breast cancer diagnosis and upcoming treatment. If she can inspire my husband to edit down the number of cords on his desk, she can kick cancer’s butt. I have no doubt.
