What I’m Loving Right Now

I’m a creature of habit, which is why, when I find something new to love, I want to share it!

I’ve talked about trying to get out of my comfort zone in the fashion department. I blame the pandemic and my changing body, but my fashion tastes were stale. With all the world’s problems, doesn’t it seem silly to spend a minute worrying about what you’re wearing?

Well, I find I feel better in my own skin if I feel confident in what I’m wearing and how I look. Here are some things I’ve found that I’m loving right now:

Fashion Forward

Platform Converse

I love the classic Converse with the updated chunky platform look. It doesn’t hurt that it gives me a little lift as I’m quickly becoming the shortest person in my family.

Bella Cardigan

I’m obsessed with this lightweight sweater from Evereve. The cropped cut makes it perfect to pair with some high-waisted jeans or jean shorts. Wear it open or buttoned. I’ve worn it four out of 7 days this week.

Ballet Dress

In the Spring and Summer, a long skirt or dress, like this one from Target, is my “uniform.” The shorter front gives this a little update.

A Comfy Jumpsuit

I know, I know. It’s a struggle to use a public restroom in a jumpsuit. But I love how you can have an entire look with one piece. And this one from Evereve is so more comfortable than pajamas. Hear me out: Get a jumpsuit.

Beyond Fashion

Beyond fashion, I’ve found some items in the beauty aisle that have really worked.

My hair is pretty fine but the traditional volumizing shampoos and conditioners tend to leave my hair feeling like straw.

Hair Care

I invested in these Virtue products I’d seen advertised on Instagram and I’m now a believer.

I had been hesitant to spend too much money on hair products (seriously, my husband spends more than I do on hair care) but this brand is totally worth it.

Sunscreen

I’m now going to the dermatologist at least three times a year for skin checks and monitoring weird moles. Every. Single. Time. I walk in the office and the doctor asks in an accusatory tone, “Have you been wearing sunscreen every day?” I have a family history of melanoma and I’m really trying to stay safe.

I’ve found the biggest barrier to the daily application is how sunscreen feels on my skin. I don’t like the often-times sticky feel. This sunscreen from Supergoop glides on so smoothly that I wear it as a primer under my makeup. It’s how I rationalize the price.

UV Protection Umbrella

Speaking of sun protection, I’m obsessed with this umbrella. Our kids play sports most weekends and I was using a regular umbrella to provide shade. This umbrella reflects light and offers UV protection. Plus, it doesn’t trap the heat like a regular umbrella does.

What are you loving right now?
